I. Arrival Feedback
Question 1: Did you have any communication with the student prior to their arrival?

Question 1: Did the student contact their parents to confirm they arrived after you picked them up at the airport?
Question 2: Aside from the typical behaviors associated with a student's travel overseas (jet lag, homesickness, etc.), is the student exhibiting any abnormal or unusual behavior? If yes, please explain.
Question 3: Have you gone over your house rules with the student?
Question 4: Healthy, fresh food is extremely important in most cultures, particularly in China. Have you discussed meal preferences with the student and shown the student where food is located in the home?
Question 5: Have you taken your student shopping for school supplies?
Question 6: Does the student enjoy his/her bedroom?>>
Question 7: Is your student able to effectively communicate with you?
Question 8: Does the student join in your family activities? If not, please offer details so that we can offer help.
Question 9: Have you assisted the student with purchasing and activating a cell phone?
Please note that host parents should never add international students to their plan. Students should set up their own separate account.
Question 10: Have you collected important documents that you or the student will need while residing in the U.S.?
Be sure to collect important documents such as the Power of Attorney, Custody Agreement, immunization records, and copies of the student’s passport and insurance card.
Question 11: Have you reminded the student to put their passport and I20 in a safe place? Ideally, students should give these important documents to you or someone at the school.
Question 12: Have you assisted your student in opening up a bank account for the student to get a debit card?
Please note that the account should be a statement savings account and NOT a joint checking account.
